Heat advisory: Big Bear Valley area under NWS warning through Sunday evening
Temperatures could hit 90s to near 100°F below 7,000 feet from Thursday through the weekend.

The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued a Heat Advisory for the San Bernardino County Mountains, covering Big Bear Valley and surrounding areas from 10 AM Thursday, July 31 through 8 PM PDT Sunday, August 2, 2026.
The advisory warns that high temperatures in the 90s to around 100°F are expected at elevations below 7,000 feet — a range that includes much of the valley floor. The NWS cautions that these conditions may cause heat illnesses.
Residents are urged to drink plenty of water and avoid strenuous outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours. Those planning outdoor activities this weekend should take note that the advisory remains in effect through Sunday evening. For information on local cooling resources during heat emergencies, residents may wish to check with San Bernardino County directly.
