The Big Bear Chamber of Commerce will officially welcome the Big Bear Rodeo & Carnival to the valley with a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony at the Sandalwood Lot in Big Bear Lake on Friday, Sept. 4, 2026, beginning promptly at 11:30 a.m. The ceremony is open to the community at no charge.
The opening day event runs through 10:00 p.m., and Friday evening will cap off with a free concert by Brian Gaylord & His Band. It's a rare no-cost draw in what is otherwise a ticketed weekend event, making it a good entry point for families curious about the rodeo before committing to admission.
The broader weekend features PRCA rodeo action, carnival rides and games, live music and entertainment, food, drinks, and vendors. Organizers are describing the Big Bear Rodeo & Carnival as "the newest tradition in the mountains."
The grand opening ceremony is open to the community, and the free Friday evening concert requires no separate registration. Admission and ticket pricing for the rodeo and carnival portions of the weekend are available at BigBearRodeo.com.
